Before you do the test, it is important that you have not had a pee for at least one hour. For girls it is best to avoid taking the test during the heaviest part of your period.

Four simple steps

1. The first thing you need to do is fill in the form, with your full name, date of birth, full address (including postcode) and contact details, otherwise the sample may not be tested. We will not share this information with anyone without your permission.
2. Please complete the sticky label on the urine bottle then pee into the bottle. Tighten cap securely to avoid leakage.
   
3. Put urine bottle into larger container, tighten cap then place into plastic bag attached to the test from and seal bag.
   
4. Place test form and sample in plastic freepost envelope and post.
   

How do I get my results?

About a week after you have sent your test back, the screening office will contact you either by text, phone or in writing (depending on which you have told us is the best way to contact you), to let you know your result.

If your test is positive, a Health Advisor will contact you to discuss your result and arrange an appointment to give you some treatment (which is usually a short course of antibiotics).
